On Einstein Day 2024, the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities elected four new members. Maike Sander is among the new inductees. We congratulate her!

The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, or BBAW (formerly the Prussian Academy of Sciences and Humanities), is an association of outstanding scientists with a 325-year tradition that transcends research disciplines and national borders.

Its members have included 82 Nobel Prize winners. Because of its focus on long-term cultural-scientific research projects, the BBAW plays a unique role in Berlin's science landscape. 

On Einstein Day 2024, the Academy admitted four new members to the mathematics and natural sciences class and the biosciences and medicine class. Among them is Professor Maike Sander, Scientific Director of the Max Delbrück Center. 

The BBAW currently has 180 full members, 155 inactive full members, 66 associate members and two honorary members. Ninety of the members are women.
